Qualifying for the Mexico City Grand Prix starts at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday, October 31 (2 p.m. PT), and you can watch it live without an Apple TV subscription. Yahoo Sports streams Formula 1 qualifying on its homepage and racing hub through a deal with Apple, announced in March.
That surprises a lot of fans, because Apple TV has been the exclusive home of F1 in the US since the 2026 season began.
One hour that sets Sunday’s grid
The session runs 60 minutes at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, starting at 3 p.m. local time, according to Formula 1. Across the rest of the country, that’s 4 p.m. CT and 3 p.m. MT.
Qualifying is split into three knockout rounds, Q1, Q2 and Q3, and the order at the end lines up the 22 cars for Sunday’s race.
Where Apple TV still fits in
Apple TV carries every practice session, qualifying session and Grand Prix for subscribers. Apple also streams all practice sessions free in its app, so the final practice at 1:30 p.m. ET Saturday won’t cost you anything either.
The race itself is a different story. To watch it live, you need the subscription, and Apple has adjusted its prices this year, so check the current rate in the app before you sign up.
Checo’s milestone weekend
There’s an extra reason to tune in. Sergio “Checo” Pérez is set to make his 300th Grand Prix start on Sunday in front of his home crowd, days after Cadillac extended his contract through 2029, Sky Sports reported.
At the front, Kimi Antonelli arrives on the brink of the Drivers’ title after winning in Austin. F1 says George Russell and Lewis Hamilton are the only drivers who can still stop him, and both need to win this weekend to keep their hopes alive.
Watch the clock on Sunday, though. Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. that morning, so the 2 p.m. local start becomes 3 p.m. ET, or noon PT.
Set a reminder for 5 p.m. ET Saturday, then open Yahoo Sports a few minutes early to find the stream.
