John Cena’s final match in WWE ends with a tapout and the closing of a legendary chapter

After more than 20 years of fighting, dedication, and heart, Cena said goodbye to the ring as only the greats know how: in his own way.

It all began in 2002, when a young man hungry for glory debuted in WWE. Three years later, in 2005, John Cena was already world champion and had become the face of the company. Since then, he was synonymous with leadership, hard work, and a phrase that marked an entire generation: “Never Give Up.”

On December 13, 2025, Cena had his last match against Gunther. The result, a submission, “tapout” surprised and divided fans. In more than two decades, Cena only submitted five times and finally, in his retirement match. A fact that makes the extraordinary nature of his career clear.🤼‍♂️

The match lasted just over 13 minutes, but the message was eternal. Cena smiled as he submitted. And that smile said it all. It wasn’t defeat, it was surrender. He left, making way for someone younger, as wrestling tradition dictates, proving that he was never a Hollywood star playing at being a wrestler, but one of the guys in the locker room. 💪

Yes, there were criticisms. Yes, many expected a different ending. But beyond the noise, the story remains:
17-time world champion, winner of the “Big Four” (WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, Survivor Series), global icon, role model for children and adults, and an example inside and outside the ring.

Thank you, John Cena, for more than 20 years of fighting, sacrifice, and unforgettable moments. 👊
The time is now… and always will be.
