Google has launched Gemini 3, its most powerful artificial intelligence model yet, and basically wants it to be your new intellectual bestie within the search engine and other apps.
Why is it a big deal?
It arrives almost two years after the first version of Gemini.
It’s Google’s answer to the heavy competition from ChatGPT and other models like Claude.
According to Google, Gemini 3 doesn’t just search for information: it thinks, analyzes, and helps you create. Literally, a mini digital brain for your ideas.
The best feature it brings
A new function called “Thinking” within the search engine that gives you deeper, more detailed, and useful answers. 🔍
Google says the model will be productive, creative, and direct, without clichés or empty flattery.
It’s launching first for Gemini Pro and Ultra users in the US, but will later be available to everyone.
Safety First 🛡️
Google assures that it has included safeguards to prevent the model from:
“Freaking” (i.e., making things up).
Being used for hacking.
Or delivering harmful or dangerous information.
The Business Side
Alphabet (Google’s parent company) is spending more than $90 billion a year on AI. 📊
And the investment is paying off: its market value is already around $3.4 trillion.
Even so, there are fears that all of this is a bubble that will eventually burst.
The Competition
OpenAI launched GPT-5, Anthropic released a new Claude… everyone is racing.
But Google is responding by integrating Gemini into its search engine, which is already used by more than 2 billion people a month.
What really made waves
Gemini 3 outperformed GPT-5 in several key tests, especially ARC-AGI-2, which measures advanced skills like “solve this impossible puzzle.”
Google also launched:
A new platform for building AI agents.
Improvements to shopping and search within Gemini.
A new version of Veo, its video model.
In short:
Gemini 3 is Google’s strongest attempt yet to transform its search engine into an “intellectual partner,” elevate the AI game, and show the world that it’s still a tech giant with plenty of fuel.
