For Deyra, this moment didn’t come out of nowhere. Originally from Villa Juárez, Sonora, Mexico, she moved to Los Angeles at 17 and has been chasing her music dream ever since. From appearing on La Academia and La Voz México to leading mariachi bands like Las Adelitas and Mariachi Divas, Deyra has hustled hard for years. “I’ve been knocking on doors for so long,” she says.
But her big break came in the most unexpected way. In August 2023, she performed at Dodgers Stadium during a tribute to her late friend, legendary Mexican baseball player Fernando Valenzuela. A few months later, Lamar’s team heard her sing at another tribute and reached out. “I didn’t know what to expect, but here I am,” she says.

She’s grateful for the chance to bring ranchera music to new audiences and has gained a newfound appreciation for Lamar’s art. “He’s building bridges, and I’m so thankful to be part of that,” she shares.
