Old Soul, New Sound: Mariachi Herencia de México Takes The Stage With Leonardo Aguilar

The sound of the mariachi takes on a fresh, new vibe, more powerful, prouder, and more electrifying than ever. Mariachi Herencia de México, nominated multiple times for a Latin Grammy, leads this new wave of modern music with a touch of Mexican classical heritage and other rhythms that it blends into its performances. Its bilingual repertoire seamlessly blends diverse musical genres, including bolero, cumbia, tango, and swing, always demonstrating that tradition and innovation can not only coexist, but thrive together.

Emerging from a Chicago Public Schools program in 2017, this dynamic ensemble has grown into a musical force with Mexican roots. It is made up of young artists between the ages of 18 and 32, proudly rocking their iconic burgundy and gold charro suits and bringing serious energy to every stage they hit. What started in public schools is now making waves across North America. The band has performed on major stages in recent years, including the White House, the Latin Grammy Awards, and even Guaranteed Rate Stadium, home of the Chicago White Sox, a Major League Baseball team.
